Films as “Home” or “An inconvenient truth” have been poignant testimonies that our society is on the wrong track.
In every way we try to make nature obedient to our greed in complete ignorance of the consequences this might have on our and our children´s future….
The association Worldshift 2012 draws an even gloomier outlook:
“If we continue on our present unsustainable path, by mid-century the earth could become largely uninhabitable for human and countless other forms of life.”
Having this in mind, we asked ourselves: What are the alternatives?
The search for an answer to this simple question changed our lives.
This sounds kind of pathetic, but for us it was an eye-opener!
Surfing the web and talking to our friends and people from the Hub and Renaissance 2, we found that besides the mainstream of urban business life, there are many interesting models for a sustainable social and healthy lifestyle sprouting here and there. Just to name a few:
- Organic farming
- Permaculture
- Self-sufficiency
- Transition Towns
- Eco villages
Visiting our first organic farm in Belgium, we were captivated by the generosity, calm and energy of the people living there!
So we decided to regularly discover models of sustainable lifestyle and share our experience in a blog (that you are reading right now!), showing role models or “recipes” of sustainable lifestyle in order to empower people to change!
As we move on, you will also find film and training recommendations, videos and pictures.
